Marie-Anne Raue was born in 1975 in Berlin. She met her business partner, Tim, while still at secondary school, after which she completed training as a restaurant manager at the Bamberger Reiter restaurant.
She then gained experience at the Rosenbaum restaurant and the Kaiserstuben in Berlin. . Marie-Anne Raue then took on responsibilities as the m’aître d’hotel and sommelier at the E.T.A. Hofmann restaurant in the Riehmers Hofgarten hotel. The congenial hostess managed the service side of the business in the same position at Restaurant 44, where her husband was in charge of the kitchen. Her work here was recognised by Gault Millau with an award for exceptionally good service in 2005 and 2006, and she was also named “Berlin Maître of the Year 2005”. In 2009, Marie-Anne Raue was also awarded the title of Head Waitress of the Year 2009 by Gault Millau in her position as general manager at MÂ restaurant. Marie-Anne Raue has been the manager and hostess at the Restaurant TIM RAUE since July 2010.
